In a significant international security operation, Turkish authorities have successfully secured the extradition of 10 fugitives wanted for serious crimes. The individuals, captured across several European countries, were returned to Turkey to face justice.
Coordinated International Manhunt
The successful extraditions were the result of a coordinated effort led by Turkey's General Directorate of Security, specifically its Interpol
Fugitives and Their Alleged Crimes
The captured individuals were wanted for a range of serious offenses. Nine of them were subject to an Interpol Red Notice, signifying they were wanted internationally, while one was sought on a national warrant.
- Russia: S.T., wanted for intentional homicide and links to an organized crime group; M.U., wanted for fraud and forgery of official documents.
- Germany: S.K., wanted for fraud through unauthorized use of bank cards; Ş.S., wanted for attempted intentional homicide; Ö.Y., wanted for intentional homicide.
- Georgia: H.A.E., wanted for drug trafficking and parole violation; E.G., wanted for robbery and forming a criminal organization; H.Y., wanted nationally for deprivation of liberty.
- Belgium: A.G., wanted for armed robbery.
- Bulgaria: Ü.K., wanted for robbery by multiple perpetrators, intentional homicide, and deprivation of liberty.
A Continued Commitment to Security
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya praised the efforts of all involved personnel. He emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to pursuing criminals regardless of their location. "Whoever commits a crime, no matter what bulletin they are on or where they are, we are catching them one by one and bringing them back to our country," the minister stated, reaffirming the dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the public.
