Widespread Police Operations Lead to 154 Arrests


Turkish authorities have detained 286 suspects in a major nationwide operation targeting the Fetullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ). The extensive police raids, which took place across 50 provinces, represent a significant blow to the group's various operational structures.


Details of the Nationwide Security Operation


The operations were coordinated by Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security's Counter

  • Terrorism Department. Following the police operations, judicial authorities have ordered 154 of the suspects to be formally arrested. An additional 79 suspects were released under judicial control measures, while procedures for the remaining individuals are ongoing.


  • FETÖ's Covert Structures Targeted


    The suspects were allegedly active within several critical branches of the FETÖ terrorist organization. The arrest warrants cited a range of activities, including:


    • Membership in the group's current structure, financial network, and secret military cells.

    • Using the encrypted messaging application ByLock, which is considered a primary tool for the organization.

    • Communicating with senior figures within the organization via public payphones.



    Scope and Success of the Security Sweep


    The successful detentions stemmed from meticulous work by provincial police departments and specialized units. Among those captured were individuals whose names emerged during FETÖ investigations and others with finalized prison sentences or existing warrants. The operations underscore the continued efforts to dismantle the network's infrastructure throughout Turkey.
