This incident follows a sobering statistic from 2024, where 137 citizens lost their lives due to red light infractions.
Stricter Penalties Under Proposed New Traffic Law
In response to the ongoing issue, a new traffic law proposal introduces escalating penalties for drivers who repeatedly ignore red lights. The graduated sanctions are designed to deter habitual offenders and enhance road safety.
