New Turkish Traffic Legislation Proposes Stricter Penalties for Emergency Vehicle Violations

A driver identified by the initials E.A. has been caught in Istanbul's Şişli district after failing to yield to an ambulance. The Türkiye Ministry of Interior announced that the individual was apprehended following investigations by the Traffic Inspection Department.

Immediate Penalties and Proposed Law Changes

The driver was initially fined under the current Highway Traffic Law No. 2918. However, a new legislative proposal seeks to impose far more severe consequences for such infractions.
